2026.10.20.2

Tovari 2026.10.20.2 is the release published on Oct 20, 2026. Here’s what changed in it.

Split Transactions Without the Math (KAN-3944)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidTransactions & Register

Splitting a transaction no longer means doing the math yourself: tap "Split evenly" to divide it across your lines, or switch to percentages and type 50, 30 and 20 instead of dollar amounts. Any stray pennies land on the last line, so the split always adds up exactly to the penny.

Search Finds Your Split Notes (KAN-3945)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidTransactions & Register

Search now finds split transactions by the notes you wrote on their individual lines, so typing "birthday" turns up that Costco trip even when the note lives on just one of its pieces. Each transaction still shows up once, no matter how many of its lines match.

A Nudge to Split Big-Box Receipts (KAN-3946)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidTransactions & RegisterCategorization & AI

Shopping at a store like Costco or Amazon? Tovari now gently asks "Split this?" so you can spread one receipt across groceries, household and whatever else was in the cart. We only ask once per store, and once you split it or say no thanks, we won't bring it up again for that store.

Split Transactions, Keyboard Only (KAN-3947)

🌐 WebTransactions & Register

Splitting a transaction on the desktop site no longer requires reaching for the mouse. Press Enter in the last amount box to add another line, and press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac) to save, or get a quick note about how much is still left to assign if the split isn't ready yet.

A Small Notice, Now Grammatically Correct (KAN-3922)

🌐 Web🍎 iOS🤖 AndroidReports & InsightsBudgeting

The little amber notice above your figures had a grammar slip: with just one possible transfer, it said "1 possible transfer affect this figure." It now reads "affects," as it always should have.

Spanish Search Finds Saldo Inicial (KAN-3949)

🌐 Web🍎 iOS🤖 AndroidTransactions & Register

Searching your transactions in Spanish now finds your starting balance and balance-correction entries. Typing "saldo inicial" used to come up empty even though that's exactly what those rows were called on screen, and we're sorry for the runaround.

No More Lookalike Categories (KAN-3950)

🌐 Web🍎 iOS🤖 AndroidBudgetingCategorization & AI

Adding a category or section in Spanish now takes you straight to the one you already have, instead of throwing an error or quietly making a twin. Type "Rent" or "Renta" and you land on the existing Renta, no duplicate, no confusing message. We missed this when we added Spanish, and it's fixed now.

See What’s Still Pending in Your Spending (KAN-275)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidReports & Insights

Spending reports now show how much of each total is still pending at the bank, so a number that shifts once those purchases post no longer catches you by surprise. In a payee's list, pending purchases are marked "Not yet posted".

Cash Flow Explains Its Outflows Total (KAN-721)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidReports & Insights

When some of your money went to an account you do not track in Tovari, the Cash Flow outflows total came out bigger than the list underneath it, with no explanation. Cash Flow now tells you how much of that total was those transfers, so the two stop seeming to disagree.

Easier-to-Read Privacy and Terms in the App (KAN-915)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

The Privacy Policy and Terms of Use in the iPhone and Android apps no longer read as one long wall of text, with their structure and emphasis now kept intact.

Category Icons, Everywhere You Look (KAN-988)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidReports & Insights

Your reports now show a little icon next to each category and payee, so you can spot Groceries or Dining at a glance instead of decoding colors. You will find them on the web, in your phone's browser and in the iPhone and Android apps.

See Which Categories Your Top Payees Fall Under (KAN-1016)

🌐 WebReports & Insights

The Spending by Payee card on your web dashboard now shows a short list of the top categories your payees fall under, so you can see where the money is really going at a glance.

Your Policies, Always in Reach (KAN-3273)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & SecuritySettings

Just before you tap Accept, you now see a short, plain reminder that the Terms of Use use individual arbitration and that you can opt out. You can also reopen the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Cookie Policy any time from Settings, on the web, in your phone's browser and in the apps, and the website footer now calls them by their proper name.

Policies Read Cleanly in the App (KAN-3278)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

In the iPhone and Android apps, policy tables used to run every cell together and bold warnings showed up as plain text. Each row now gets its own line and the important words stay bold, so the policies read the way they were written.

Spanish Category Lists, Properly Sorted (KAN-3951)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBudgetingReports & InsightsCategorization & AI

If you use Tovari in Spanish, categories that sit side by side with the same amount or position now line up in Spanish alphabetical order. Before, those ties were sorted by the English names behind the scenes, so the list could look oddly shuffled. Everything else stays exactly where it was.

Spanish Budgets, Sorted Properly (KAN-3953)

🌐 Web🍎 iOS🤖 AndroidBudgeting

If you read Tovari in Spanish, the "Everything else" group on your yearly budget now lists categories with matching totals in Spanish alphabetical order. Before, those ties fell back to the English names, which could look out of order. English stays exactly as it was.

AlternativeTo badge on the Tovari website (KAN-3958) The Tovari Financial website now shows a “Listed on AlternativeTo” badge at the bottom of every page. Clicking it opens our AlternativeTo listing, where you can see how Tovari compares to other apps, follow it, and leave a review. Reviews there help other people looking for a better budgeting app find us.
