2026.09.12.1

Tovari 2026.09.12.1 is the release published on Sep 12, 2026. Here’s what changed in it.

Bill Suggestions Now Match Your Calendar (KAN-1089)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBills & Reoccuring

When we suggested turning a recurring transaction into a bill, the proposed first-payment date could land a day early if it was evening where you live — we were checking our clock, not yours. That's fixed now, so suggested dates always match your own calendar.

No More Duplicate Bill Payments (KAN-2039)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBills & ReoccuringTransactions & Register

Marking a bill paid by hand sometimes didn't recognize that same payment once your bank posted it under one of those garbled descriptions, so you'd end up with two entries for one bill. We taught the matching to see through the noise, so a bill like "Rent" now lines up correctly with something like "RENT PMT ACH 0421 WEB ID 1234" instead of showing up twice in your register.

Bills Clean Up After Bank Reversals (KAN-2041)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBills & ReoccuringData Sync

If your bank reversed a transaction that had already paid one of your bills, a stray record sometimes stuck around and kept that bill from resetting properly. That's fixed now — a reversed payment cleans itself up completely, so your bill's payment history stays accurate.

Undo Now Remembers Correctly (KAN-2225)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidTransactions & RegisterCategorization & AI

If you categorized a bunch of transactions at once and then hit Undo, it could occasionally put them back in the wrong category instead of where they started. We caught the mix-up and fixed it — Undo now always restores the exact category each transaction had before you changed it.

The “See All Categories” Button Finally Works (KAN-2260)

📱 iOS & AndroidBudgeting

The "See all N categories" button on your empty Budget screen used to be all talk — tapping it did nothing. Now it actually expands to show every category, and tapping again puts the list back away.

Merchant Names, Correctly Recognized Again (KAN-2499)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidCategorization & AIPayees

Some transactions from real businesses — like furniture stores, gift shops, or a bar named after a country singer — were showing up without a name because our system mistook the business name for a person's. We tracked down the mix-up and fixed it, so more of your transactions now come through with their real merchant name attached.

No More Broken Screens on Old Imports (KAN-2500)

🌐 WebFile Import

Reviewing a transaction from an import that had already been cleared out used to throw up a confusing, broken-looking error instead of a straight answer. We tracked down the glitch — now it just tells you plainly that the transaction's gone, instead of leaving you staring at a broken screen.

Second Chances for Face ID & Touch ID (KAN-2594)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

If Face ID or Touch ID didn't work the first time — say, your phone was locked or the scan just glitched — the app used to quietly assume you'd said "no thanks" and never offer to turn it on again. Now it knows the difference between a genuine hiccup and an actual decline, so a rough first try gets another shot next time you open the app, while a real "no thanks" is still respected for good.

No More Stuck Transfer Errors (KAN-2597)

🌐 WebTransactions & Register

Every once in a while, turning a new transaction into a transfer between accounts could leave you staring at a stubborn error message — even though the transfer had actually gone through just fine. We found that false alarm and fixed it: the app now recognizes what really happened, closes things out, and refreshes your register instead of leaving you stuck.

Sign Out Now Really Turns Off Push (KAN-2598)

📱 iOS & AndroidNotifications & E-Mail

On some fresh installs, opening notification settings right after signing in could accidentally register your device twice. If you signed out after that, one of those duplicate registrations could get left behind and keep sending you push notifications anyway — an awkward way to say goodbye. We closed the gap, so each device now registers exactly once, and signing out actually turns push off for good.

Google sign-in on mobile now works when two-factor is turned on (KAN-2646)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

If you sign in to the mobile app with Google and you have two-factor turned on, you can finally get in — the app now asks for your six-digit code instead of just refusing you. That was our fault: the code screen existed and worked for password and Apple sign-ins, but the Google button never handed you off to it. Anyone who was also owed the one-time note about using Forgot Password to set a password again will now see it too.

Correct Account Types From the Start (KAN-2654)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances

Turns out we weren't always taking your bank's word for what kind of account you'd linked — checking, savings, investment, you name it. That's fixed now, so things like your Safe to Spend total get it right from the moment you connect an account.

Your Upcoming Bills Are Readable Again (KAN-2691)

📱 iOS & AndroidBills & Reoccuring

The list of upcoming bills on your home screen had coloured blocks smeared across it, with stray words showing through the bill names. Nothing was ever wrong with your bills — the swipe buttons were just peeking out from under each row when they should have been hidden. They are tucked away again, and they still slide out the moment you swipe.

Reconnect Your Bank, Keep Your History (KAN-2694)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances

Unlink a bank and then reconnect it later, and we used to lose track of you — leaving your history behind on an old account while quietly starting a brand new, empty one. That's fixed: reconnecting the same bank now finds your original account and picks up right where you left off, no do-over required.

Face ID Unlock That Actually Sticks (KAN-2701)

🍎 iOSAccount & Security

Turning on Face ID unlock used to work for a few minutes, then quietly sign you all the way out the next time you fully closed and reopened the app, with zero explanation. That happened because the app was accidentally erasing its own memory of your Face ID setup every time it started back up; we found the glitch and fixed it, so enabling Face ID now actually sticks. If your Face ID setup ever does get scrambled, the app now cleans up after itself and tells you plainly that Face ID was turned off, instead of just dumping you at the sign-in screen.

Notification Settings That Stick (KAN-2703)

📱 iOS & AndroidNotifications & E-Mail

We found a glitch where the app could occasionally forget you'd already said no to notification alerts, and ask again anyway. We tracked it down and fixed it — once you turn off notifications, that decision sticks for good.

No More Stuck Bug Reports (KAN-2715)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & Android

If you ran into our hourly limit while reporting a problem, retrying once the limit cleared could leave you stuck — unable to send that report for a full day. We tracked down the snag and fixed it, so your retry now goes through right away.

No More Duplicate Issue Reports (KAN-2716)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & Android

If you ever had to retry reporting a problem from the app, it could quietly file the same report twice — two confirmation emails, one issue. That's fixed: a plain retry is now recognized as the same report, and we also stopped promising a short wait when a retry might actually take much longer.

Keeping Notification Alerts in Check (KAN-2734)

📱 iOS & AndroidNotifications & E-Mail

One of the quiet safety checks that limits how many grouped notification alerts go out at once had a sneaky bug letting a few extra slip through. We tracked it down and tightened it back up, so that limit now holds exactly like it's supposed to.

No More Random Logouts During Verification (KAN-525)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

If you took a little too long setting up (or turning off) two-factor login, or verifying your email, you could get logged out right in the middle of it — not exactly the confidence-inspiring experience we were going for. That's fixed now: the app quietly keeps your session fresh behind the scenes, so you can take your time without getting booted out partway through.

No More Transaction-Matching Mix-Ups (KAN-535)

🌐 WebTransactions & RegisterBills & Reoccuring

Matching transactions in your register just got a bit smarter. Automatic balance adjustments no longer show up as something you can try to match, since they never could be matched anyway. And if two transactions turn out to be payments for different due dates on the same bill, matching them together used to risk losing one payment's record — now we catch that and keep both instead.

Retrying a stuck issue report no longer files it twice (KAN-707)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidNotifications & E-Mail

If you sent us an issue report and it didn't go through right away — a slow connection, a moment offline — tapping Submit a second time could file the same report twice and send you two confirmation emails. Now Tovari recognizes that it's the same report you already tried to send, so pressing Submit again simply completes the one report instead of creating a duplicate. If you change what you wrote before trying again, that counts as a new report and is sent as its own. This works the same way on the web and in the mobile app.

No More Duplicate Error Messages (KAN-757)

🤖 AndroidAccounts & Balances

On Android, running into trouble while saving, connecting, or reconnecting an account used to show the same error message twice — once at the top of the screen and once at the bottom. We caught it: now you'll see it just once, with a simple way to dismiss it.

No More Sneaky Offline Budget Saves (KAN-796)

📱 iOS & AndroidBudgeting

If your connection dropped while you were editing a budget amount, that edit could quietly save anyway — the one part of the Budget screen that wasn't listening for a dropped connection. That's fixed: budget edits now wait for you to be back online, just like the rest of the screen already did.

Remove Stuck Goals From Your Dashboard (KAN-797)

🌐 WebBudgeting

If a goal's category wasn't part of your monthly budget, there used to be no way to take the goal off — you were just stuck. Now a quick Remove button sits right on the goal card on your dashboard: confirm you mean it, and the goal's cleared, with everything else about that category left exactly as it was.

Cleaner Account Names, Everywhere (KAN-810)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & BalancesTransactions & RegisterBills & Reoccuring

Account names on your phone used to come with an extra string of digits tacked on the end, like "Amazon Card ••2571" — now they show up clean and simple, just "Amazon Card," matching what you already see on the web. We also caught a spot where those digits could sneak in twice on a transfer description and fixed that too.

Clearer Google Sign-In Error Messages (KAN-853)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

If signing in with Google ever ran into a hiccup behind the scenes, you used to see a confusing, generic error message. Now you'll get a clear "try again in a moment" message instead, so you know right away it's temporary and not something you did wrong.

No More Partial Policy Acceptances (KAN-911)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

If something hiccuped while you were accepting our policy updates, you could end up with some marked accepted and others not, even though everything looked confirmed on your end. We tightened that up: accepting policies now happens together as one step, so what you see confirmed is always what actually went through.

Know How Long Until You Can Retry (KAN-916)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

Verifying your email too many times in a row used to leave you with a vague "try again later" message. Now we tell you exactly how many seconds to wait, so you're not left guessing — on web and mobile alike.

A Heads-Up When Google Resets Your Password (KAN-917)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

If you had a password on your account and then signed in with Google on the app, we quietly swapped your password behind the scenes — but never told you. Now you'll see a friendly heads-up that says to use Forgot Password next time, just like you already get with Apple sign-in.

A Shake and Buzz for Wrong Codes (KAN-918)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

Enter the wrong sign-in code and you'll feel it right away — a quick shake and buzz, plus a clearer message that also shows how many tries you have left. And if you step away from the app in the middle of it, we'll bring you back to a clean sign-in screen instead of leaving you stuck.

Sign-In Buttons That Actually Disappear (KAN-919)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

Signing in with Apple or Google used to leave the other button sitting there, greyed out, instead of getting out of your way. Now it disappears completely — just like it always has when you sign in with your password — so the screen stays clean while you wait.

A Clean Sign-Out When You Switch Emails (KAN-920)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

If you tapped "Try a different email" while verifying your account, we weren't signing you all the way out — some old session info could stick around instead of clearing out. Now that button gives you the exact same full, clean sign-out as "Log out," so switching emails always starts you with a fresh slate.

Behind-the-Scenes Tidying (KAN-1477) We straightened out an outdated label on one of our internal quality checks so it actually matches how things work today. Nothing changes for you here — just some quiet tidying behind the scenes.

Consistent Password Hints (KAN-1725)

🌐 WebAccount & Security

Some of our password boxes said "Min. 8 characters" while our mobile sign-up screen said "8+ characters" — same rule, two different reminders. We've tidied it up so every password field now says the same thing, wherever you're signing up.

No More Sneaky Password Spaces (KAN-1726)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

Had a stray space at the start or end of your password? Our checklist used to say you were all set, then signup would reject it anyway — not fun. Now it catches that extra space right away, so a green checklist actually means you're good to go.

Password Checklist That Matches the Rules (KAN-1727)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccount & Security

Your password checklist could show a green check for "special character" and then have signup reject that very password — not anymore. The checklist and the real sign-up rules now agree, and it also catches a password with a stray space at the start or end. Every requirement gets its own line too, so you know exactly what's left before you hit submit.

Right Suggestions, Right Account (KAN-1937)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidTransactions & RegisterBills & Reoccuring

Switching between accounts quickly could momentarily show you the previous account's recurring-payment suggestions instead of the new one's. We caught the mix-up and fixed it, so what you see always matches the account you've selected.

Safe to Spend, Now Editable on Mobile (KAN-2023)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances

Want to change whether an account counts toward your Safe to Spend number? You can now do that right from your phone — just open the account, flip the switch, and save, no deleting and re-adding required.

No More Confusing Error Messages (KAN-2593)

🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidFile Import

A few error messages in the app used to sound like they'd escaped from an engineer's notebook — cryptic, technical, and not exactly reassuring. Now they're written in plain English, so if something ever goes wrong, you'll actually know what happened and what to do next.

Quick-Set Budget Shortcuts Come to Android (KAN-2612)

🤖 AndroidBudgeting

Setting a budget for a category on Android just got a lot faster — tap into the amount and quick-set buttons pop up so you can fill in last month's spending or what's already scheduled with one tap, just like iPhone users have had all along. We also fixed a rough edge where the keyboard could get stuck open after tapping away or hitting the back button.

Tax Labels, Right Next to Your Accounts (KAN-2660)

📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances

Your investment accounts now show their tax type — like Traditional, Roth, or Taxable — right next to the account name instead of tucked away underneath it, so you can see how each one is taxed at a glance.
