Tovari 2026.10.20.1 is the release published on Oct 20, 2026. Here’s what changed in it.
New features
Section titled “New features”Manage Your Card Subscription From Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3815)
Section titled “Manage Your Card Subscription From Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3815)”🌐 WebBilling & SubscriptionsSettings
If you pay for Tovari by card, you can now manage your whole subscription from your phone's browser: update your card, settle a missed payment, switch between monthly and yearly, cancel, or change your mind and resume — no computer required. If you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, Billing now gives you a one-tap link straight to the right store to manage it there.Help That Takes You There, in Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3816)
Section titled “Help That Takes You There, in Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3816)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidPayeesSettings
Getting help in your phone's web browser now works the way it does in the Tovari app. Every main screen has a help button at the top, where you can ask about the screen you are on or open the guides. When the help assistant answers, its Go to button now takes you straight to the right place: a section of Settings, your payees, the Cash Flow view of your bills, all your transactions, a report or an alerts list. The assistant also describes the phone browser's screens accurately, so its directions match what you see.Split One Purchase, Many Categories (KAN-3903)
Section titled “Split One Purchase, Many Categories (KAN-3903)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidTransactions & RegisterBudgetingReports & Insights
You can now split one purchase across several categories, so a single store run of $214.87 can count as $142.10 of groceries, $52.77 of household supplies and $20.00 of gifts, each with its own note. Your budget, reports and Safe to Spend all count each piece where it belongs, while your account still shows one transaction for the amount the bank charged. If the bank later changes that amount, we set the difference aside for you to sort out instead of quietly guessing, and splitting works the same on the web, in your phone's browser and in the iPhone and Android apps.Your Week in Review, Every Week (KAN-3918)
Section titled “Your Week in Review, Every Week (KAN-3918)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidNotifications & E-Mail
Your weekly email is now a proper look back at your week: how your Safe to Spend is holding up, what came in and went out, your top spending categories, bills coming up and bills you paid, your budget, and how your net worth moved. If a bank connection needs attention, the email says so up front and holds back any numbers it can't vouch for, so you never see an old balance dressed up as today's. It also arrives in Spanish, dates and all.Plan Your Budget From Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3805)
Section titled “Plan Your Budget From Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3805)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBudgeting
Budgeting from your phone's web browser just caught up with the app: switch the Budget tab to Plan and you can type each category's amount right where you see it, fill it in one tap from last month, your averages or your bills, or press and hold a row for more ways to fill it. You can also budget every category at once (with a preview first and an Undo if you change your mind), and add a category by picking one you already have or creating a new one in whichever section you like. We also fixed a small slip where "Remove from budget" stayed tappable if you lost your connection with that screen already open, in the app and on the web.See Where Your Balance Is Headed, on Your Phone (KAN-3809)
Section titled “See Where Your Balance Is Headed, on Your Phone (KAN-3809)”🌐 WebBills & ReoccuringReports & Insights
On a phone browser, the Bills tab now has the same Cash Flow view as the app, with a chart of where your balance is headed and a heads-up on the day you'd dip below zero. Drag along the chart and the list jumps to that day. You can group what's coming by month or by payday, pick which accounts and how far ahead to look, and add a one-off item right there.Settings, App-Style, in Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3814)
Section titled “Settings, App-Style, in Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3814)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidHousehold ManagementNotifications & E-MailSettings
Settings in your phone's web browser now works just like Settings in the Tovari app: neat sections you tap open for your household, billing, Safe to Spend, notifications, language and privacy, with Log out right at the bottom. You can invite and manage household members, adjust Safe to Spend and see your new number as soon as you save, and pick which alerts reach you, no computer required. And Delete account now lives in one place, under Billing, instead of showing up twice.Sign Up and Sign In Like the App, in Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3817)
Section titled “Sign Up and Sign In Like the App, in Your Phone’s Browser (KAN-3817)”🌐 WebAccounts & BalancesBudgetingAccount & Security
Signing up and signing in on your phone's web browser now looks and works just like the Tovari app, from the very first screen to your first budget. You get the same step-by-step setup with a clear "Step 2 of 6" counter, six tidy boxes for your verification and two-factor codes, a password checklist that ticks off as you type, and a friendlier way to reset a forgotten password. Getting started feels the same on your phone browser and in the app.Safe to Spend, On Your Android Home Screen (KAN-3880)
Section titled “Safe to Spend, On Your Android Home Screen (KAN-3880)”🤖 AndroidBudgetingBills & Reoccuring
Your Safe to Spend number now lives on your Android home screen, so you can check it without opening the app. Pick the small size for just the number, the medium to add your next few bills, or the large to bring in your favorite budget categories too. It follows your phone's language, English or Spanish, and refreshes whenever you use the app and again around midnight.Back Button Stays in Step (KAN-3836)
Section titled “Back Button Stays in Step (KAN-3836)”🌐 WebTransactions & Register
In your phone's browser, if you pressed Back while a save was still finishing and the window stayed open, the next Back could jump one screen too far. Back now stays in step with what you see.Merge Only the Payees You Can See (KAN-3837)
Section titled “Merge Only the Payees You Can See (KAN-3837)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidPayees
When merging payees, changing your search now clears the ones you had ticked, so a payee hidden by the search can no longer slip into the merge. This works the same in the iPhone and Android apps and in your phone's browser.Budget Totals Catch Up After Transfer Review (KAN-3842)
Section titled “Budget Totals Catch Up After Transfer Review (KAN-3842)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBudgeting
After you approved, unlinked or confirmed a transfer from Alerts, the Budget year view could keep showing the old totals until you refreshed. It now updates right away, in the apps and in your phone's browser. The Projection Chart Listens Every Time (KAN-3868)
Section titled “The Projection Chart Listens Every Time (KAN-3868)”🌐 WebAccounts & Balances
In your phone's browser, the balance projection chart on Home could ignore your next click if you had let go of the mouse outside it. It now responds to every press.Re-Imports No Longer Double Up (KAN-3352)
Section titled “Re-Imports No Longer Double Up (KAN-3352)”🌐 WebFile Import
If you typed in a purchase yourself, a bank file later matched it, and you re-imported that file after the bank reworded the description, you could end up with two copies. Tovari now remembers the bank's own ID for each transaction, including on your older imports, so that no longer happens and your balances stay right where they were.Credit Card Reconciling, Minus Sign Not Required (KAN-3428)
Section titled “Credit Card Reconciling, Minus Sign Not Required (KAN-3428)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances
Reconciling a credit card or loan used to make you type your balance with a minus sign, which was confusing. Now you just enter the amount you owe as a normal positive number, and the balance, the difference and the final confirmation all show that same amount on the web, your phone's browser and the app. We also fixed the bank comparison showing out-of-date numbers after you marked transactions cleared or uncleared, and what you've typed no longer disappears when the screen refreshes. One Row Means One Row (KAN-3785)
Section titled “One Row Means One Row (KAN-3785)”🌐 WebSettings
When there was exactly one of something, the app said "1 rows" on your data export and "with 1 paychecks" in your Safe to Spend settings. Grammar has been restored: they now read "1 row" and "1 paycheck."“Ends After 1 Payment,” Properly Said (KAN-3789)
Section titled ““Ends After 1 Payment,” Properly Said (KAN-3789)”🌐 WebBills & Reoccuring
A bill set to end after a single payment was labelled "Ends after 1 payments." It now says "Ends after 1 payment," the way a person would.Widget Categories, Now in Spanish (KAN-3848)
Section titled “Widget Categories, Now in Spanish (KAN-3848)”📱 iOS & AndroidBudgeting
If your phone speaks Spanish, your Home Screen widget was still showing Tovari's built-in category names in English, so you'd see "Groceries" on the widget and "Supermercado" in the app. That mismatch is gone, and the widget now shows those category names in your language. Categories you named yourself still appear exactly as you typed them.Account Errors Show Up Where You Can See Them (KAN-3861)
Section titled “Account Errors Show Up Where You Can See Them (KAN-3861)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances
If saving, closing or unlinking an account failed while its sheet was open, the error appeared behind the sheet where you could not see it. Now the message shows right inside the sheet you are working in, in your phone's browser and in the iPhone and Android apps.Remove Button Waits for Wi-Fi (KAN-3872)
Section titled “Remove Button Waits for Wi-Fi (KAN-3872)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBudgeting
If your connection dropped while a budget category was open, the Remove from budget button still looked ready to tap, even though nothing could actually be saved. Now it dims and stays put until you're back online, in the app and on your phone's browser alike. No More Bills That End After Zero Payments (KAN-3875)
Section titled “No More Bills That End After Zero Payments (KAN-3875)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBills & Reoccuring
You could set a bill to end "after 0 payments" or leave the number blank, and saving would either fail with a confusing error or quietly keep the old number. Now the bill editor stops you right there and asks for a number greater than zero, on the web, in your phone's browser, and in the iPhone and Android apps.Safe to Spend Save Errors, Now Visible (KAN-3895)
Section titled “Safe to Spend Save Errors, Now Visible (KAN-3895)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidSettings
If a Safe to Spend change didn't save, you'll now actually see it. Before, tapping Save with that section folded shut could fail without a peep, leaving you wondering if anything happened. Now the section pops open and scrolls into view so the problem is right in front of you.Improvements
Section titled “Improvements”Phone Browser Finishing Touches: Spanish and Help Guides (KAN-3818)
Section titled “Phone Browser Finishing Touches: Spanish and Help Guides (KAN-3818)”🌐 WebSettings
In a phone's web browser, the Back button on every screen is now read out in Spanish by screen readers when Tovari is set to Spanish. We also checked the help guides against the phone screens and fixed the spots that had drifted, so they now point you to the right place to set an investment account's tax treatment, find your Safe to Spend settings, and accept updated policies.“Uncategorized” No Longer a Dead End in Alerts (KAN-3844)
Section titled ““Uncategorized” No Longer a Dead End in Alerts (KAN-3844)”🌐 WebCategorization & AI
In your phone's browser, the category picker on an uncategorized item in Alerts offered an "Uncategorized" choice that did nothing when you tapped it. That choice is gone there, matching the app.Undo Stays Out of the Way (KAN-3845)
Section titled “Undo Stays Out of the Way (KAN-3845)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidTransactions & Register
The "Undo" message could cover the buttons pinned to the bottom of the Alerts screen, like "Not a transfer" and "Skip for now". It now sits above them, in the iPhone and Android apps and in your phone's browser.Tap a Recent Transaction to Open Its Account (KAN-3869)
Section titled “Tap a Recent Transaction to Open Its Account (KAN-3869)”📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances
In the iPhone and Android apps, tapping a transaction in Recent activity on Home now opens that account's register, just like it already did in your phone's browser.Home Remembers Where You Were (KAN-3870)
Section titled “Home Remembers Where You Were (KAN-3870)”🌐 WebAccounts & Balances
In your phone's browser, going back to Home from your transactions now puts you right where you left off instead of dropping you at the top.Card Payments, Filed Correctly (KAN-959)
Section titled “Card Payments, Filed Correctly (KAN-959)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidCategorization & AI
Payments to your credit card, like the one to a furniture store's card, were being filed as furniture shopping instead of a card payment. They now land in the right category on their own. We also taught the app to recognize four more familiar names, Citizens Bank, City Furniture, Discount Tire and Pottery Barn, so their transactions get sorted without you lifting a finger.Your Bills Now Say What the Bank Did (KAN-1033)
Section titled “Your Bills Now Say What the Bank Did (KAN-1033)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBudgetingBills & Reoccuring
Bills now tell you when a matching payment has shown up at your bank, so the Schedule list, the Upcoming Bills card and your budget bill lists no longer call a bill overdue when it has really been paid or is on its way. You will see "Payment found", "Pending", "Choose payment" or "Entered by you" in the same words the register uses, and those lists catch up right after you add, change or remove a payment.Four More Merchants Recognized (KAN-2678)
Section titled “Four More Merchants Recognized (KAN-2678)”🌐 Web🍎 iOS🤖 AndroidCategorization & AI
Purchases from Citizens Bank, City Furniture, Discount Tire and Pottery Barn now land in the right category on their own. Until now the app played it safe with these four and left them for you to sort out, because their names look a lot like other, similar businesses. It now knows the difference.“Payment Found” Right on Your Bills List (KAN-2868)
Section titled ““Payment Found” Right on Your Bills List (KAN-2868)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBills & Reoccuring
When your bank already showed a payment that looks like it covers a bill, the Bills list kept quiet about it, so you only spotted it in the register or by opening the bill. Now the Schedule list shows "Payment found" right on the bill, on the web, in your phone's browser and in the iPhone and Android apps.Reorder Tells You When It Can’t Load (KAN-3363)
Section titled “Reorder Tells You When It Can’t Load (KAN-3363)”📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances
In the iPhone and Android apps, if your full account list could not load while you were rearranging accounts, the rows just sat there with no drag handles and no explanation. Now you see a short message with a Retry button, and the handles come back as soon as the list loads.Undo Now Brings Everything Back (KAN-3573)
Section titled “Undo Now Brings Everything Back (KAN-3573)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidBills & Reoccuring
Hit Undo after marking a bill paid from the "Coming up" card on Home, and everything now comes back exactly as it was, including your note and any date or amount you had changed. It works the same way as Undo on the Bills screen, on your phone and in the phone browser.Reconcile Keeps Up With Your Changes (KAN-3685)
Section titled “Reconcile Keeps Up With Your Changes (KAN-3685)”🌐 Web📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances
After you marked a transaction cleared or uncleared, the bank figure Reconcile compares against could lag behind until the page reloaded. It now catches up right away, and it never overwrites a number you are in the middle of typing.A Spanish Widget That Fits (KAN-3846)
Section titled “A Spanish Widget That Fits (KAN-3846)”📱 iOS & AndroidSettings
Your Home Screen widget now speaks Spanish all the way through, including the sample preview you see when you add it. We also fixed a heading that was getting cut off in the medium widget and a long sentence in the large one that was bumping your third favorite category off the screen.Connect Card, Now in the Right Colors (KAN-3862)
Section titled “Connect Card, Now in the Right Colors (KAN-3862)”📱 iOS & AndroidAccounts & Balances
The "Connect a bank" card in the iPhone and Android apps now uses the same teal gradient as everywhere else, instead of a slightly different navy blend.Connecting From Investments Works Like Everywhere Else (KAN-3863)
Section titled “Connecting From Investments Works Like Everywhere Else (KAN-3863)”🌐 WebAccounts & Balances
In your phone's browser, connecting a bank from the Investments screen now works the same way it does on the Accounts screen: you choose which accounts to add and how much history to bring in, and if something goes wrong you get a clear message you can dismiss.
